In
1936 Garnet Carter gave Clark Byers a truck, some paint and a mission.
Paint See Rock City on every barn he could find along the country roadways
leading to Beautiful Rock City Gardens. For decades, these barns have
transformed the highways and back roads into roadside guides directing
motorists to Chattanooga and up Lookout Mountain to “See Rock City.”
